Dr. Tim Cook
Congratulations to my friend, mentor, and colleague Dr. Tim Cook who has been selected as the new President of Clackamas Community College. Tim has served Clark College as Vice President of Instruction, and it was in this role that I got to meet and work with him.
I will remember all of the support Tim provided to me as a new instructor, his thoughtful and encouraging feedback on projects I have worked on and, for also making it a point to come and sit in on my classes.
I wish Tim the best of luck in his new role and know that we will miss him here at Clark College.
Two new videos were added to the “Business Web Practices Speaker Series” channel on YouTube. Many thanks to Tocarra and Heidi for taking the time to speak to the Clark College community.

Here’s the video of Peter Ramsing‘s talk entitled “The Ongoing Adventures of a Front End Developer” which he delivered at Clark College on Wednesday afternoon. Let me just say that web development technologies have been rapidly evolving over the past several years. A day doesn’t go by when a new language, library, tool, technique isn’t trying to grab your attention. Peter talks about this and how important it is to maintain your focus. On behalf of Clark College thank you, Peter.
Here are some links
to things mentioned during Peter’s talk.
This week’s speaker is a Clark College Alum success story. A few years ago, Troy Uyan was a Clark Running Start student exploring career options. He is currently employed as a web developer for the government of Clark County. He talks about how Clark’s CTEC Web Development program helped prepare him for his job and share impressions of his current world of work.
Here’s a video of Troy’s talk given at Clark College on Wednesday, September 28, 2016:
Here’s a video recording of the talk Aaron Hockley gave to my Business Web Practices (CTEC 165) class at Clark College earlier this week.
Clark College has over 25 active advisory committees that include members from the business community, instructional staff, and students. Committee work is fun and engaging as it allows staff, students and industry to discuss business trends, program curriculum, students success stories and much more. Here’s a link to Clark’s Advisory Committee. Look on the right side of the page for a list of the committees. Click on one of the links to learn more.
