More changes on the horizon

Back in April I notified the OpenNTF Board that come this October I will be stepping down as Chairman of OpenNTF – The Open Source Community for IBM Collaboration Solutions. October is when my term as Chairman would normally end. You might have seen on the OpenNTF blog that nominations for eight board seats are now accepting nominations. Once the new board is elected a new Chairman will be elected. I will be working with the new Chairman to ensure a smooth transition.

I highly encourage all partners to get involved with OpenNTF in some way or another as it continues to be one of the pillars that supports the IBM Collaboration Solutions ecosystem.

OpenNTF has been a passion of mine since 2001 and after 12 years, it’s time for me to pursue some other things that I have wanted to do, but haven’t had the time.

  1. I’ll say it: I never thought OpenNTF would fly when I first heard it announced. Had I been more familiar with the community and, more specifically, knew you better Bruce, I would have known immediately it was going to be the rousing success it is.

    Enjoy your next stage!

  2. Bruce, thank you for all your community related work over the last years. I will miss working with you on a daily basis a lot. Still can’t and don’t want to believe this big change. I wish you the best for whatever you’ll do next.

  3. Bruce thanks for all you have done for the community, for my business and for me.
When I started teaching myself Notes in 1994 I spent many hours dissected the mail template as an example of best practice because I didn’t know any better and because there were so few examples to learn from.

Thanks to OpenNTF individuals and businesses now have a wealth of best in class examples to learn from. OpenNTF really has come a long way and has made a huge contribution.

Thanks again for all your efforts, Sean

  4. Brucen thanks for all the work done during this past 12 years. Whish you the best for your new challenges.

  5. Thank you Bruce for all the effort you’ve put on OpenNTF in particular and the “yellowverse” in general. You’ve been and you’re a leading example

  6. That’s what _leaders_ do. They point things in the right direction, set the train moving, then go on the lookout for new and exciting goals.
Your drive and motivation is contagious, and you charge the batteries of everybody around you with your engagement and ambition.
The community owes you a lot, and I’m sure Karma will take good care of you in any new endavour.
Good luck – have fun! 🙂
